Departing from Zarzis, this two-day camel trek invites you to a total immersion in the silence and immensity of the Tunisian desert.

Between Douz, the gateway to the Sahara, and the endless dunes, you will share the daily life of the camel drivers and live an authentic experience in the heart of nature.

Heading for the desert and a night under the stars

At dawn, at 6:30 a.m., you leave Zarzis for Douz, the last oasis before the vast expanses of the Sahara.

After about three hours of driving, the first desert reliefs appear and announce the start of the adventure.

On site, the camel drivers welcome you and prepare the expedition: loading equipment, preparing meals and organizing the bivouac.

Before leaving, an introduction to driving dromedaries will allow you to familiarize yourself with these traveling companions.

Then, at a slow and soothing pace, you begin your camel trek, following the trails traced by nomads for generations.

At the end of the day, when the sun sets and the sand turns gold, the bivouac comes to life. A campfire crackles, the flavors of dinner mingle with the desert air, and the evening passes in a moment of sharing with the camel guides.

The night takes place under a private tent or under the stars, depending on your preference, lulled by the silence of the Sahara.

Last steps in the desert and return to Douz

At first light, a traditional breakfast awaits you, accompanied by bread baked in the sand, a Saharan specialty.

Then the caravan slowly sets off again, offering a few more hours of walking to enjoy the serenity of the desert.

After a lunch break in the shade of a dune, the hike comes to an end.

Little by little, the first palm groves of Douz reappear on the horizon.

Your vehicle awaits to take you back to Zarzis, thus completing this escapade in the heart of the Sahara.

DESERT IMMERSION AND NOMADIC LIFE PROGRAM

Day 1: Zarzis > Douz > Desert.

Pick up from your place of stay in Zarzis at 6:30 a.m.

4X4 transfer to Douz.

There we will meet our Bedouin guides and their dromedaries, we will leave for the first stage of our camel trek.

After two hours of hiking, lunch break, prepared by the camel driver.

We continue our walk for 3 hours in the white sand dunes.

Bivouac, dinner and night in the desert in individual tents.

Day 2: Desert > Douz > Zarzis.

Breakfast and departure for the return to Douz

After 3 hours of hiking, lunch break with the camel driver.

We resume our march to find Douz.

Return to your place of stay in Zarzis around 5:30 p.m.
