Embark on an unforgettable horseback adventure in the heart of the Tunisian desert, between golden dunes and endless landscapes.

Departure from Zarzis – 6:30 a.m.
You leave Zarzis at dawn , heading for Douz , nicknamed the gateway to the desert .

Meet your mount and your guides
Upon arrival in Douz , you will be greeted by your experienced horse guides , who will introduce you to the horses that will accompany you throughout this Saharan trek. After a route briefing and a few adjustments , you will be ready to hit the dunes.

First day on horseback – immersion in the desert
Once in the saddle, you ride through spectacular landscapes , alternating between majestic dunes, desert plains and isolated oases. Throughout the day, you follow the rhythm of the horses , enjoying the silence of the desert and the breathtaking panoramas.

Regular breaks are planned to admire the landscapes , take photos and share a lunch in the middle of the desert , either in the form of a picnic or in a local restaurant , depending on the day's itinerary.

Saharan bivouac – night under the stars
Late in the afternoon, set up camp in the heart of the desert. You will have the choice between sleeping in a private tent or spending the night under the stars , for a total immersion in the Saharan atmosphere.

After dinner under the starry sky , let yourself be lulled by the silence of the desert.

Second day – return to Douz and lunch.
In the morning, after breakfast in the middle of the desert , you set off again on horseback to reach Douz , enjoying one last time the endless expanses of the Grand Erg Oriental. Lunch will be served upon your arrival , either as a picnic or in a traditional restaurant.

Return to Zarzis – end of the adventure.
After this last meal, you will take the road back to Zarzis, your heart filled with unforgettable memories , marked by the beauty of the desert and the unique connection with your mount.

DESERT HORSEBACK RIDING PROGRAM

Day 1: Zarzis > Douz > Desert

Pick up at your place of stay in Zarzis, then transfer in Douz.
There we will meet our horse guides and their horses then we will leave for the first stage of our horseback ridingin the white sand of the desert, a gigantic quarry.
After two hours of hiking, lunch break, prepared by the guide.
Resumption of our ride for 3 hours in the dunes.
Bivouac, dinner and night in the desert in individual tents.

Day 2: Desert > Douz > Zarzis

Breakfast and departure 3 hours of walk.
Lunch break with horse guides

Resuming our walk to find Douz.
Return to your place of stay in Zarzis
