DAY 1: FROM DJERBA TO KSAR GHILANE
(Route: Djerba > Roman Causeway > Tataouine > Desert)
Pick-up from your accommodation in Djerba
We will pick you up in front of your place of stay in Djerba at 7:30 a.m.
You will take the legendary Roman road which connects the island to the continent.
Then you will cross olive groves, surrounded by fascinating semi-desert landscapes.
Flexible photo stops are planned to immortalize these exceptional panoramas.
Photo stop at the salt lake Sebkhet el Melah
First stop at Sebkhet el Melah or Zarzis Lake, a salt lake renowned for its changing hues, a treat for photography enthusiasts.
Visit Tataouine and Ksar Ouled Soltane

Sun Protection: High protection sunscreen, sunglasses and hat/cap (the desert sun is strong, even in winter).

Swimming & Quad biking: Swimsuits (for the hot spring), beach towel and a shemagh or scarf (essential to protect yourself from the sand on the quad/camel).

Souvenirs: Camera or smartphone with external battery (power bank) so you don't miss anything.
For your comfort at night in the campsite:

Toiletries: Personal toiletry kit and bath towels (the campsite provides bedding, but not towels).

Clothing: The desert has a large temperature range.

Summer: Loose-fitting cotton clothing.

Winter (Nov-Mar): Nights are very cold (sometimes 0°C). Bring a fleece, warm trousers or comfortable sweats to sleep in and enjoy the starry night.

Lighting: A flashlight or headlamp is recommended for moving around the campsite at night.
