KSAR GHILANE 2 DAY TRIP PROGRAM

Day 1: From Zarzis to Ksar Ghilane – Adventure and Discoveries.

Early morning departure from your hotel in Zarzis for a captivating drive through semi-desert landscapes.

First stop: Visit the Zarzis salt lake, where the changing colors offer a unique spectacle.

Next: Stop at the ksar Oued Soltane, famous for having served as the setting for Star Wars.

Continue to Chenini, a Berber village perched on a hill, before a local lunch in Guermassa.

Arrival at Ksar Ghilane, where the rocky desert gives way to ochre sand dunes.

You will have the opportunity to, take a camel ride and/or go on a quad bike adventure in the dunes.

Magical evening and night in the desert at the Saharan camp:

Departure for 20 km of track in the middle of the desert to reach the Saharan camp.

Settle into your comfortable tent that looks like a 3-star hotel, with real beds and everything you need for a good night's sleep.

Watch the traditional demonstration of baking bread in the sand.

Dinner under a starry sky, followed by a walk in the dunes for a memorable experience.

Day 2: Matmata and Tamezret – Traditions and Hospitality.

Quiet awakening in the heart of the desert and breakfast at the camp.

Route to Matmata to discover its troglodyte dwellings, used as a setting for the Star Wars saga.

Authentic lunch in the village of Tamezret, where you will be welcomed into the home of a local to share a traditional meal and discover Tunisian hospitality.

Visit to the Berber village of Toujane.

Return to Zarzis via Medenine:

At the end of the afternoon, return and drop off in front of your place of stay with unforgettable memories.

Ksar Ouled Soltane: Iconic Star Wars setting, one of the best-preserved ksars in Tunisia.
Chenini: Perched Berber village with a breathtaking panoramic view.
Ksar Hadada: A ksar used as a setting for the Star Wars films.
Ksar Ghilane: Gateway to the desert, where the rocky landscape transforms into golden dunes.
Matmata: Unique troglodyte houses and famous film set.
Tamezret: A very beautiful Berber village.

To be expected:

Necessary and towel.

A flashlight or headlamp, as well as towels (not provided at the Saharan camp).
For the evening, in winter, bring warm clothes because it can be very cool at this time of year.
If you are sensitive to the cold, for camping we recommend sports tracksuits for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.
Blankets, pillows and sheets are provided at the campsite.
