PRIVATE DAY TRIP TO DOUZ AND MATMATA PROGRAM

06h00: Departure from your place of stay in Djerba. It is best to leave early in the morning to enjoy the day.

10 am: Arrival in Douz, also called the "Gateway to the Sahara". It is an excellent starting point for exploring the Sahara Desert.

Coffee break and free time in the souk. The cattle market is on Thursday.

For a typical experience, depart for a camel ride in the desert. You will also be able to enjoy an incredible view of the sand dunes.

Lunch at the restaurant. You can try the local cuisine which includes dishes like couscous, Tunisian tagine, or "egg brik".

After lunch, departure for Matmata. This town is famous for its cave houses. Matmata also served as the setting for the movie "Star Wars".

In Matmata, visit a traditional troglodyte house and discover how the locals lived in these unique dwellings.
