  1. Transfer from Gabès to Douz: You will be picked up in Gabès at 6:30 am and transferred to Douz, a city located at the gates of the Tunisian desert.
     

  2. Arrival in Douz: Once you arrive in Douz, you will be welcomed by your local guide who will explain the details of the excursion and introduce you to your camel.
     

  3. Preparation and departure: You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with your camel and prepare for the hike.
    Your guide will ensure that you are comfortable and safe throughout the excursion.
     

  4. Trekking in the desert: You will get on your camel and start your adventure in the Tunisian desert.
    For about two hours, you will cross the golden sand dunes, enjoying the silence and tranquility of the Sahara.
     

  5. Lunch in bivouac: In the middle of the day, you will take a break in a traditional bivouac where you can rest in the shade of Berber tents.
    You will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the camel driver who accompanies you. He will make you discover typical dishes of the region, allowing you to taste the local cuisine.
     

  6. Return to Douz: After enjoying your meal and resting, you will get back on your camel for the return to Douz.
    The return hike can also provide stunning desert scenery and a memorable experience.
     

  7. End of the excursion and return to Gabès around 5:30 p.m.: Once back in Douz, you will be driven to Gabès, where your day trip by camel in the Tunisian desert will end.

PROGRAM

 

  • Gabes, pick-up early in the morning, 6 a.m., then drive to Douz.

  • Arrival in Douz around 10 a.m. 

  • We will meet our camel drivers thereand their camels

  • Departure for the two-hour camel trek

  • The camel driver will prepare lunch for you in the desert, Tunisian salad, grilled meats, bread baked in the sand.

  • Departure for return to Gabes in 4X4 and deposit at your place of stay
