The Meharee
The Méharée is a real immersion in the nomadic culture of the desert, a traditional mode of travel where each participant has his own dromedary to ride.
We also have additional dromedaries that carry the luggage, and young children can possibly share a dromedary.
It is important to distinguish a Méharée from a camel trek.
The major difference lies in the use of camels.
In a Méharée, you travel on the back of a camel, while during a camel trek, the emphasis is on walking.
In any case, camels are there to carry bivouac equipment, food, water and your luggage.
You don't have to do anything, just enjoy the scenery!
The trek
As a trekking option, walking is the main element.
Camels are exclusively used for business transport.
However, if necessary, an "emergency" dromedary can be unloaded to carry a participant. With this option, you can enjoy the desert scenery in peace without the hassle of managing gear.

7 DAYS WITH MEALS AND NIGHTS IN THE DESERT
Jour 1: Gabes > Douz
We ensure your pick-up at your place of stay in Gabes for a comfortable transfer to Douz.
Your first evening includes a welcome dinner and a restful night at the hotel.
Day 2:
After an energetic breakfast in Douz, embark on a 4-hour expedition by 4x4 through tracks and dunes to the imposing plateau of the Tembaine mountain.
You will meet our Bedouin guides and their faithful dromedaries, who left Douz three days ago.
After a rustic lunch in the desert, get ready for your first leg of an unforgettable meharian adventure.
Enjoy dinner under the stars and a night's rest in a Bedouin tent, enlivened by the crackling campfire.
Days 3 and 4:
It is after an early breakfast that we load our camels to begin our exploration of the Grand Erg Oriental.
The sun serves as our guide, determining the rhythm of our day.
You'll cross a sea of golden dunes and take part in lunch stops in the middle of the desert, with meals cooked over a campfire.
Our guides will show you how to bake fresh bread patties in the hot sand.
Our goal for Day 4 is Lake Houidhat Erreched, a hot spring oasis amid rolling dunes, home to a multitude of bird species.
We will spend the evening and morning of the 5th day relaxing and exploring this enchanting place.
Days 5, 6 and 7:
Leaving Lake Houidhat Erreched behind us, we take the path of the dunes for the rest of our camel trek.
Evenings are spent around the campfire, where we share stories and enjoy the tranquility of the desert.
On the 7th day, with the mountain of Tembaine in sight, we will have lunch for the last time in the desert.
After saying goodbye to our camel drivers, we return by 4x4 to your place of stay in Gabès, ending an unforgettable desert adventure.
