Our private circuit begins at 7:30 a.m., with pick-up at your place of stay in Djerba, for a journey rich in discoveries and emotions.
Start your journey with the discovery of the Jebel Dahar region, located in the south-east of the country. Here you will be captivated by the many iconic Berber villages like Matmata, Toujane and Tamezret.
Away from the traditional tourist circuits, these authentic villages bear witness to the history and cultural richness of this beautiful Berber region.
We will then continue our journey to the west, crossing the Chott El Jerid, an impressive salt lake that stretches as far as the eye can see.
We will pass through Douz, a city renowned for its immense palm groves producing the delicious "Deglet Nour" dates.
After this spectacular crossing, we will arrive in Tozeur to explore its traditional Medina, with narrow streets and ornate brick houses.
Continuing further west, we will reach the mountain range located near the Algerian border. Here, many springs gush out in the heart of the desert landscape, forming small shady oases.
You will be fascinated by the mountain oases, especially Tamerza with its waterfalls, Midès and its deep canyons, as well as the splendid oasis of Chebika.
Finally, we'll head south, where the verdant landscape gradually gives way to the awe-inspiring Sahara.
The great eastern erg is then revealed to you, with its majestic sand dunes. From bright white in Douz to deep ocher in Ksar Ghilane, the panorama is simply breathtaking.

During our tour, you will have the opportunity to spend the night in the heart of the Sahara, in a camp in the desert. Nothing beats the experience of spending a night under the starry desert sky, it's simply unforgettable!
This area is ideal for 4x4 tours, as many places are not accessible to traditional tour vehicles.
Matmata is one of the highlights of our tour.
Famous for its remarkable troglodyte dwellings, this village is a must in Tunisian tourism. It also served as a place locations for scenes from the Star Wars saga, adding a touch of magic to your visit.
Douz, nicknamed the "Gateway to the Sahara", was once the most important oasis in the region.
During Antiquity, it was an essential stopover for caravans traveling between the Sahara and northern Tunisia.
Every December, the city hosts the international festival of the Sahara, a major event that highlights the culture and Saharan traditions.
The Chott El Jerid is a vast salt lake stretching nearly a hundred kilometers from east to west. Contrary to popular belief, the Chott El Jerid is above sea level, with no elevation lower than 15 meters.
Tozeur, located northwest of Chott El Jerid, is one of the oases which marks the entrance to the Sahara Desert.
The city has a rich religious history and is renowned for its scholars.
Tozeur is also an important center of date production, with an annual production of 35,000 tons, of which 4,000 come from organic farming.
The most cultivated variety is the Deglet Nour, often called "Finger of light".
In the past, the "Lézard Rouge", a tourist train linking Metlaoui to Gafsa, was a must in the region.
It traveled through the mountains through tunnels and gorges, most notably the Selja Gorge.
Unfortunately, in 2018, a landslide blocked the valley and rails, making the track inaccessible.
Currently, the reopening of the route is not yet possible.
THE MOUNTAIN OASIS
Chebika is one of the three most famous mountain oases in Tunisia, alongside Tamerza and Midès.
About an hour's drive northwest of Tozeur, after crossing the El-Gharsa (chott) salt lake, the oasis mountain range of Chebika nestles on the sides of desolate rocks.
It is an oasis steeped in a gorge, and if you climb up to the mausoleum, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the salt lake, the oasis and the surrounding mountains.
Tamerza is located in a small valley, backed by the mountains, offering a breathtaking lunar landscape. The wadi (river) gushes from the rocks, bathing the palm trees and creating a picturesque picture.
It is in this mountain oasis region, with its waterfalls, that some scenes from the film "The English Patient" were filmed, adding a touch of cinema to the natural beauty of the place.
Mides, hanging on the edge of a canyon where we find fossils and colored minerals, houses a new village in the heart of the nearby palm grove.
This oasis provides dates, oranges and figs.

The English Patient" and "Fort Saganne", showcasing the grandeur
of its landscape.
Ksar Ghilane
The southernmost of the Tunisian oases and one of the gates
of the Tunisian Sahara Desert, the oasis is supplied by a spring, which irrigates the palm grove.
This oasis serves as a refuge for around fifty families of nomads living from the exploitation of the date palm, the breeding of goats and sheep.
You can optionally take a walk by camel or quad to visit the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar
Chenini
Very beautiful site and also the most visited located 18 km west of Tataouine, perched on a ridge. you will discover the cave dwellings, built in the rock.
Guermassa
It will take a 4x4 to reach the ancient village of Guermessa, this Berber town clinging to the hillside village preserved unfortunately less than others.
Ksar Ouled Soltane
Ksar with 4 floors, Ouled Soltane is an Arab Ksar and not Berber, unfortified. Made of the finest ghorfas 4 floors of the region.
Ksar Hadada
5 km north of Ghomrassen, consists of 380 one-storey Ghorfa. It served as a set for the movie "Star Wars" in 1999.

Day 1 :
