The first day of our two-day excursion from Gabès to Tataouine promises to be rich in cultural and historical discoveries.


We will leave your place of stay in Gabes at 7:30 am and head to the Ksar of Medenine, an ancient fortified city that bears witness to the rich and fascinating history of the region. You can explore the narrow streets, admire the traditional architecture and feel the authentic atmosphere that reigns in this place steeped in history.


After visiting the Ksar of Medenine, we will have a coffee break in Tataouine. Take advantage of this time to soak up the local atmosphere, stroll through the streets and discover the hidden treasures of this charming town.


Then we will continue our journey visiting the Ksar Ouled Soltane, an emblematic site known for its Ghorfas, traditional storage structures used by the Berbers to preserve their harvests. You can admire the unique architecture of this ksar and learn more about the ancestral way of life of the inhabitants of the region.


For lunch, we will go to a typical restaurant in the village of Guermassa, where you can taste tasty local dishes and further immerse yourself in Berber cuisine and culture.


After regaining our strength, we will continue our exploration with a guided visit to the village of Chennini.

You will have the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque alleys, admire the traditional houses and meet the friendly inhabitants of this authentic Berber village.

You will discover the traditions, customs and way of life of the Berbers of the region, and you will be captivated by the history that emerges from every corner.

We will not fail to visit the Ksar El Ferech, another Berber architectural gem that testifies to the ingenuity and traditional craftsmanship of the region.

You will be amazed by the details of the architecture and the unique atmosphere that reigns in this place steeped in history.


We will end this busy day with a visit to Ksar Hadada, known for having served as the setting for some emblematic scenes from the Star Wars film.

You will be able to walk around the places and relive the cult scenes of this legendary cinematographic saga.


At the end of the afternoon, we will settle in a troglodyte lodge for the night. You will have the opportunity to live a unique experience by spending the night in a traditional dwelling carved into the rock.


You can enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with local products and relax in this authentic and peaceful environment.

On the second day, after enjoying a delicious breakfast in the troglodyte lodge, we will begin our second day of exploring the Berber region.
Our first stop will be at Ksar Jouamaa, another magnificent example of traditional Berber architecture. You will be dazzled by the intricate details of the facades, the narrow alleys and the peaceful interior courtyards of this ksar. Take advantage of this visit to learn more about the history and culture of the region.
Then we will go to Ksar Hallouf, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings. Take the time to soak up the beauty of the surrounding landscapes and admire the traditional buildings that stand proudly.
For an even more immersive experience, we will have lunch with the locals in Tamezret.
You will have the opportunity to taste the local cuisine and share a convivial meal with the locals.
It is a unique opportunity to discover the culinary traditions and better understand the daily life of the Berbers of the region.
After satisfying your taste buds, we will head to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses. You will be amazed as you explore these rock-cut dwellings, which offer a fascinating insight into the traditional Berber way of life.
You will learn more about the history of these unique houses and you can discover some of the interiors preserved and decorated in a traditional way.
Finally, we will begin the return to your place of stay in Gabès, with unforgettable memories of this immersion in Berber culture and history.
You will have had the opportunity to discover remarkable ksour, share authentic moments with local inhabitants and explore emblematic sites of the Tataouine region.
