ZARZIS QUAD AND CAMEL IN THE DESERT

EXCURSION TO KSAR GHILANE BY QUAD AND CAMEL DAY EXCURSION FROM ZARZIS

There are many ways to discover the desert: by all-terrain vehicle or 4x4, by quad, on the back of a camel or on foot.

 

This excursion offers you to combine two of these modes of transport: the quad and the dromedary.

 

We will leave early in the morning from your hotel in Zarzis to reach Ksar Ghilane. Along the way, we will take breaks to take photos and enjoy a coffee.

 

Arrived at Ksar Ghilane, you will have the option of bathing in a natural hot spring.

 

Then, you will embark on a one-hour camel ride, before having lunch in a restaurant at the foot of the dunes.

 

Then, you will leave for an hour of quad in the sand, in the direction of the Roman fort of Tisavar.

 

After this day full of emotions, you will have free time in the oasis before heading back to Zarzis.

 

A unique adventure combining the pleasure of driving and communion with nature, for an unforgettable day in the Tunisian desert.

KSAR GHILANE, A STARTING POINT TO THE INFINITY OF THE DUNES 

Ksar Ghilane is an oasis located at the entrance of the Grand Erg Oriental, famous for its magnificent ocher dunes.
This tourist site is home to the Roman fort of Tisavar, built during the reign of Emperor Commodus to monitor the road to Dahar.
This fort was part of the Roman border, called "the limes", also known as the "terminus".
From Ksar Ghilane, visitors have the opportunity to go to the ruins of the Roman fort of Tisavar, close to the oasis. The trip can be done on camel or quad.

A little further on, splendid panoramas of ocher dunes sculpted by the wind are revealed.
Our guides and camel drivers put their experience at the service of visitors, to enable them to discover the unique emotion of a camel or quad ride in the desert.

To reach Ksar Ghilane from Djerba, we will cross fields of olive trees. Little by little, the landscape will become more and more arid and rocky, before the ocher sand of the desert is revealed at the entrance of Ksar Ghilane.
